These earrings are hand-assembled by Niamh at her kitchen table in Cobh, in aid of Alaa — a Palestinian mother of two who has been raising her children in refugee camps alone since her husband was martyred last year.
We’ve now upgraded the materials.
The posts are sterling silver for better comfort and durability, and each pair comes in a reusable, recyclable tin — ready to gift or keep.
These watermelon studs are €15 per pair or €25 for two pairs. After fees, materials, and a small reinvestment to keep future fundraisers going, approximately €10 from each pair goes directly to Alaa.
Alaa is doing everything she can to keep her children safe under siege, but they are terrified, starving, and cut off. This fundraiser sends cash directly to her so she can survive.
These earrings are handmade — please be gentle with them and remove before showering or sleeping.
The watermelon has become a symbol of Palestinian resistance and solidarity. We hope you’ll wear these proudly, and tell people why.
As this is a fundraiser, we ask that you treat this as a donation first and foremost. Refunds are of course available, but please know the money may already be in Gaza by the time you receive your order. These earrings — however imperfect — are a thank you we hope you’ll love.
There are hundreds of thousands of mothers like Alaa trying to do the impossible. If you’d like to start your own fundraiser, visit Gaza Go Bragh to learn how to get money, food and shelter directly and immediately to families in Gaza.
